Welcome to USS Imperator: An Obsidian Fleet Simulation

Last Known Alert Status: Condition Red

Contact Lost During Rescue Operations

Imperator is a Sovereign Class Starship attached to Obsidian Fleet's TF47 as the flagship of the Task Force. Currently, the ship has just re-launched from Starbase Sirius after a several month long repair following a massive battle several months prior. This same battle led to her previous CO, Oliver Lancaster, being assigned to a desk job from the Starbase focusing on Task Force Operations for Task Force 47.

The ship has now been placed under the Command of Captain Thomas Winter, a decorated Officer who has spent the last several years on deep space exploration missions. Now, however, he continues the task of his predecessor, patrolling the Federation Klingon border, trying to prevent any altercations that may turn the cold war between the two powers hot.

When not dealing with this, however, Captain Winter and his crew continue Starfleet's mandate to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilisations. To boldly go where no one has gone before.

“Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence – is the key to unlocking our potential.” - Sir Winston Churchill

Good Evening Everyone,

There's no easy way to say this so I'll just come out with it.

Earlier this week, I was informed by Shawn, the player behind our Chief Engineer, that Liz, his wife and the player behind G'Kar, passed away a couple of weeks ago. This is a loss for the fleet, the sim but most of all for Shawn.

I'm sure you'll all join me in offering deepest condolences to Shawn for his loss, that he's in our thoughts, and hope that any of you who may have one faith or another will keep Shawn and his family in your prayers.

We're all sorry for your loss, my friend. The nights sky is one star brighter now. Of Liz, I will say only this.

May your journey be smooth and peaceful. May whatever afterlife you believe in treat you as well as you deserve. And may you be greeted at the gates of Stovo'kor with a barrel of blood wine!

» Golden PADD 2018

Posted on Thu May 31st, 2018 @ 11:55pm by Rear Admiral Oliver Lancaster in General News

Hey guys,

Just an update. This year's Obsidian Day is coming up, and as of tomorrow, June 1st 2018, the Golden PADD competition will be open for submissions! Not only that, but this year, Trek submissions aren't the only option as to what genre can be submitted. So long as it's sci-fi and an original story, anything is fair game!

Go to https://www.obsidianfleet.net/2018/05/20/golden-padd-2018/ for the rules.

» Sim Rule Update

Posted on Fri Mar 2nd, 2018 @ 4:55pm by Rear Admiral Oliver Lancaster in Sim Announcement

Hello guys,

As per my recent announcement on Discord, I have taken the decision to change the rules RE activity. They are now as follows;

When tag responses will take more than 3 days (i.e. if there's an RL matter interfering), I ask that you let the other participant(s) know in a timely manner. This one is not a rule but a request.

Inactivity without communication for 7 days will result in a strike.

Inactivity for 21 days without communication will result in removal from the sim.

The CO reserves the right to change these rules without notice at any time.

These rules are in effect from TODAY (March 2nd 2018). They will not be back dated.

Any questions should be directed to me.

Hope everyone is well.

» Class Change

Posted on Mon Jan 22nd, 2018 @ 7:20pm by Rear Admiral Oliver Lancaster in General News

Hey all,

So, update on the class change. Effective immediately, we're transferring to the USS Imperator, a Sovereign Class Starship. Heads up, there is an error where the old Wolff skin still shows on the control panel. I am aware of it and it will be worked on.

We're also going to be starting our new mission within the next day or two.

Finally, we're going to start recruiting for the vacant positions. If you know anyone who would want to apply, please, send them this way.

Hope you are all well.

Hey everyone,

At the recomendation of Lt Thorrin, I've gone ahead and created a discord channel for the Wolff. I'd like to see you all on there. However, I won't be making it obligatory at this time.

Hope you are all well.

Mission: Kobayashi Maru

The bridge was filled with a smell of burning, bathed in red emergency lighting. Consoles flickered and made laboured beeps and chirps as the ship attempted to engage systems that were all but destroyed. In the centre of the room, Tom laid face down, blood trickling down his forehead.

Oliver sat in his office on Sirius. He’d spent the last day trying to find a way to justify to Starfleet Command his allowing Winter to take Imperator into Romulan territory, despite edicts for the ships under his purview not to do so. In that time, he’d come up with…

Tom stepped onto the Bridge from his Ready Room, tugging his uniform tunic down as he quickly making his way to the centre of it but not sitting down. He'd received the call for all senior staff to report to the Bridge.

Tom walked into the Observation Lounge, flanked by Thorrin and Harry. He'd left Beauvoir in Command of the Bridge while they were en route. Unlike a lot of Captains, who liked to brief their entire staff in one go, Tom preferred generally to brief key personnel on matters relating to…

Tom walked into his Ready Room, moving around the desk and taking his seat. He pressed a control on the desk, causing the terminal to slowly raise out from the desk in front of him.

"Computer, connect me to Admiral Oliver Lancaster, Starbase Sirius." Tom said "Priority one."

Imperator has been assigned to border patrol while running some cadet training exercises. I understand the need for such things, sure, but I'm not sure I'm the best person to be doing them. After all, my relationship with my own daughter isn't exactly great.

Captain's Log, supplemental.

We're en route to Takan's rift, an anomaly on the edge of Klingon space. It's never been considered a particularly interesting anomaly by Starfleet Command. The last survey was conducted in 2345 by the Stargazer under Jean-Luc Picard. The report I read cited it as being "absolutely…
